Launch On-Screen Keyboard in Windows XP

Here is how you launch it:

• Go to start
• Go to run and type OSK
• Then the keyboard comes on

It's just that simple. It's best to make a desktop icon for it or a shortcut, because if your keyboard should go out on you, it would be handy to have it. All you do to create the shortcut is to:

• Right click on the desktop
• Click the new shortcut button
• Type osk, click next twice, and there you have it.

Change Your Mouse Pointer

This trick is hardly useful. Its just for fun1

1.Go to the control panel.

2.Go to Mouse.

3.Go to the tab that says "Pointers".

4.Hit the pull down menu under "Schemes".

5.You'll find a large collection of different pointers for you to use or you can browse and pick other graphics to use as pointers.

6.Click Ok.

Disable or Enable Auto run CD

In windows XP you can enjoy a good feature to run CD or DVD automatically when you loaded it into you CD drives on your computer. This is a defaults feature in windows XP but you can disable and enable it according to your nature of work. In user interface mode there is no option to disable or enable this feature, you must edit the registry of windows and be careful to work registry.

Click Start button then type regedit in Run option then press Enter for next.

Here locate the location to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom

Here you can disable or enable automatically running your CD. Change the value of Autorun to 0 for disable and change the value to 1 for enable. At the end restart your computer for this change.

Clear Documents History

Are you tired clearing documents history one by one? Here is an easy way to clear documents history.

1) Right Click on the Task Bar (Bar where start is placed)

2) Select Properties.

3) Click on Start Menu.

4) Select Customize.

5) Click Advanced.

6) Finally Click Clear List on the bottom and its done.

Show or Hide My Computer, My Documents etc.

1) Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.

2)In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Desktop tab, and then click Customize Desktop.

3)In the Desktop icons area in the Desktop Items dialog box, select the desktop icons that you want to appear on your desktop.

4)Click OK.

5)Click OK again.

6)The icons you selected will be displayed on your desktop.

Prevent Pen Drive Virus

1) Disable autorun/autoplay function of your pen drive.

by holding shift while u insert the pen drive till pen drive is read.

2) Now open any folder of your computer.

(Do not open any folder from your pen drive.)

3) Now go to tools then select Folder Option

In that box mark the Show Hidden Files & Folders option.

Also Uncheck Hide Extension for known file types & Hide Protected OS files.

Now click apply and ok buttons and close that folder.

4) Now come to the desktop.

On the Desktop, click on windows Start button and select Search for files & folders.

When the search dialog box appears on the screen, in that click on All Files & Folders,

now click on More Advanced Options then select search Hidden files & folders.

Now go above & in Look In option, select your pen drive letter (For example E: Or G:)

and hit Enter.

5) Now if you see any unknown .Exe files, simply delete them all.
